Inspirational Women

Great Lakes Council will celebrate International Women's Day today with an inspirational morning tea for women of all ages. Three fantastic women will share their wisdom with the group.

Donna Muscardin has been working with women in many capacities over the past 30 years. Donna was the first authorised nurse practitioner in Australia in sexual health and is a survivor of breast cancer.

Anne Maxwell is the social worker at Heartfelt Health and Healing, Tuncurry. Anne has mentored many in a voluntary and paid capacity and is passionate about people discovering themselves.

Donna Carrier is the proprietor of Bent On Food Café and regional produce store, Bent On Food Cookery School and Bent On Life. Donna will talk about her success in business and how she maintains her enthusiasm for her work.

"International Women's Day provides an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the special qualities and achievements of women both locally and internationally" said Amanda Ellis, community services coordinator, Great Lakes Council.

The event will be held at Great Lakes Council, Breese Parade Forster. Attendees are asked to arrive at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. To RSVP or for details, phone 6591 7312.
